Description: This year was a little different at Children's Health Plano Hospital. Due to a massive expansion at the hospital, the atrium was not available to distribute toys, but we still made it to the room visits. We visited over 85 rooms with eight pilot volunteers. As we moved through the rooms the kids were full of excitement and appreciative of all the great toys we gifted them. We even made it to the pre-op surgery area and helped calm some children down with a sweet pillow pet before they went into surgery. It was a wonderful day!
Description: It had been 3 years since DFW Pilots for Kids visited Cooks Children's Hospital. We were amazed at how much the hospital had grown. PFK had over 17 pilot volunteers and we needed more. This visit is a room to room visit and it is very personable. We gave gift cards to the parents in the NICU. We also distributed amazing toys to over 270 children throughout our visit. Some pilots were teamed up with a service dog dressed up with antlers to help bring some joy to the children. We went to over 13 areas in the hospital. I want to thank the staff and pilot volunteers for making this visit great.
Description: DFW Pilots for kids had an amazing visit at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. We greeted and interacted with over 85 patients gifting them with a toy, gift card, arts and craft, pillow pet and a balloon. The joy and cheer that was brought by all the pilot volunteers was amazing. The children were also fortunate enough to be given a children's book "Which came First" autographed by the author, Janet Sever Hull. This event was unforgettable.
